Most of us spend too much time and money on entertainment, when we should be working on improving ourselves and increasing our value in the marketplace. Is it possible our thirst for entertainment and lack of concern for education could be a factor in our economic troubles? Find Your EVE Ratio Take a moment to find out your EVE Ratio. It is simple really. Just take out a piece of paper, and divide it into two halves. Make a list of everything you do for entertainment--cable tv, movies, sports, hobbies, vacations, dining, drinking, internet, video games, social clubs, etc. On the other side make a list of things you do for education. Then list out the amount of time and expenses associated with each item in the lists in a given month. Total it all up for both sides and you'll have your EVE Ratio! Why the EVE Ratio? Life gets out of balance periodically, and hopefully an excersize like this will cause you to get your life back into balance. Additionally, people often think that they can't afford continual education, but when you really look at your entertainment expenses you might find the funds you are looking for. |
